1. It is a sad day in American History

And it is all the result of people with conservative values. If those with said values opposed this constitutional travesty and tragedy they (the majority) would have stopped it. Our country, our constitution, our future means nothing to Republicans.

2. Union Army forces detained people during the civil war--- which was an actual WAR---

and probably at times during reconstruction, when the southern states were under the control of the military.


Since then? Not that I've ever heard or read about.

3. These Marines today are not the Marines my dad was a part of.

Nor are the Army soldiers as smart and courageous as my uncle's army buddies. In a conversation about Trump's latest campaign rally with the army as a backdrop my uncle said it made him sick to see those in uniform laugh and nod in agreement with everything Trump stupidly spewed out. They should have sat stoned-faced through the entire ranting.

6. As a veteran with almost 30 years of service

that was very disappointing to see.

4. LAPD should arrest the marines

They are unlawfully impersonating police officers, kidnapping, and human trafficking. Arrest a few hundred and let the fun begin.

5. If you look at the photo of the U.S. veteran they detained, it's fairly obvious

that his crime was being brown.
