The Cuba missile crisis, Civil rights, the killings, the assassinations, beatings, lynchings, the Vietnam war .. more wars, terror attacks, the list goes on and on.

So what tranquil time was that?

Not criticizing the poster, just asking the cartoonist. I'm not recalling such a time.

Literally, the room in the cartoon …

I’ve lived through all the calamity you describe , and I still recall moments in between that were somewhat tranquil and peaceful , even if fleeting …
These days make me miss the recent Biden years since there were periods then when sanity at least prevailed … now it’s all gone .

Anyway , it’s just a cartoon after all .
