What exactly are those ugly gold reliefs above the oval

Office fireplace? They look like weird fishbones or something. What are they supposed to be and why are they there? It's so goddamn horrible.

Visiting oligarchs and authoritarian dignitaries bring gold nuggets with them when they visit. Trump takes double stick tape and splats them on the wall, to be removed when he leaves, or when Jr. needs cocaine money.

or

Trump has kidnapped the golden goose of American exceptionalism, keeping it barely fed with a steady diet of spam and glitter. Chained to the chandelier, it can only fly around in tortured circles, crapping out a sticky substance that adheres to those walls that have seen so, so much.

Some bad plaster or plywood goodies, a little gold spray paint, and voilà—nothing says “class” more than turn of the century bordello chic vomited on every surface. *eyeroll*

The gaudy tastelessness is beyond words.

But I'd gladly give him his appalling decor in exchange for a functioning executive branch. Too bad that deal is not in the cards.
