What Are Democrats Asking For

Is there a list of demands? The only issue I have heard of is making the Obamacare subsidies permanent.

I mean time is growing short to just get that. Insurers are meeting now to set premiums and deductibles. Open enrollment for Obamacare in Idaho begins the middle of October, most of the other states it begins Nov. 1st.

Medicaid cuts will amount to 1 trillion dollars according to the Kaiser Family Foundation but those cuts don't happen until December 2026.
The problem is that a few states are already making cuts to Medicaid in anticipation of losing the federal money.

There is talk of Medicare being slashed to not cover as many procedures.

Obamacare, Medicare, Medicaid, SNAP are all being gashed in HR1 that became law. The goal of Project 2025 is to kill unwashed Americans.

So if Magats agree to fund the Obamacare subsidies and the country reopens, what's to stop Krasnov from rescinding the money later?

This country needs an Alexei Novalny to organize a revolution.

1. As long as Dems don't cave on the ACA subsidies/medicare cuts, we don't need a revolution immediately

If republicans don’t restore the healthcare funding and make it recission-proof, then the cuts will kick in, premiums will skyrocket, and the suffering will be widespread, sparing no one from either party.

As awful as it will be, it works in our favor, and could lead to a revolution at the polls in 2026.

The rumours and rumblings from Swallwell and Timothy Snyder about the GOP turning against Trump are pretty clear evidence that Dems have the advantage and momentum…now if they can just maintain their courage…

Contrary to popular belief, the biggest % of people on Medicaid are from rural America, not from big cities.

I believe that unwashed Magats will be more affected than Democrats. Blue states will try to offset the loss of federal funding, not so sure that red states will have the money or will to do that.

I understand there will be problems with healthcare coming soon but the vast majority of healthcare cuts will happen after the 2026 election.

especially kids die anywhere...including rural America. I want the ACA subsidies because the ACA will self destruct without them...Trump's dream fulfilled. And we go back to huge majorities being uninsured. And the old saying they came for ...

"The famous quote, attributed to German pastor Martin Niemöller, states: "First they came for the socialists, and I did not speak out—because I was not a socialist. Then they came for the trade unionists, and I did not speak out—because I was not a trade unionist. Then they came for the Jews, and I did not speak out—because I was not a Jew. Then they came for me—and there was no one left to speak for me". The quote expresses regret and a warning about the consequences of remaining silent in the face of injustice and persecution, and the danger that silence poses"

Medicare will be next and no one will be left to speak. We need to unite and fight back. No one deserves to be left behind because of their politics. Will anyone be left standing to help us? I hope so. Congress needs to hold the line-no surrender and never give up. It is too important for all of us. Next year is the 250 anniversary of our independence. Let's remain free.

I have to feel for those who will suffer because of this. One was almost me, but I just got on Medicare, thankfully
