Don't be like billionaires. Be like Anthony Bourdain:

He really did try to show Americans how beautiful diversity is.

It's always the wisest teachers that hold the most pain.

Perfect description of wisdom.

The more you know, the more you realize how much you don't know.

To a great extent, I shared his world view and travel philosophy. I loved trying to get lost in a strange city and take in the people, the culture, the differences, the similarities.

you'd have to have an iron clad stomach since he drank A LOT! I could drink and keep up with him to point but all of those AM hangovers in very hot temps would not allow me to continue.

I've watched every episode of the 3 different food shows since 2001 and I have his books. He taught me a lot about food. I have 14 of his shows saved on my DVR right now (CNN and The Cooking Channel and Vimeo). If you want to watch a particular one you could find it, I'll help you.

My favorite one is when he goes to Romania to visit "Count Chokula's Castle" with Zamir...hysterical. This would be fun to show at a Halloween party. Tony was miserable, which made it even funnier.

I had some of his shows saved on my DVR; they disappeared when the DVR gave up the ghost.

I'd reserve the right to not drink or eat everything he did, plus I'd choose to go on an eating binge with him to one of the more civilized place. No game, nothing alive, and so forth.

All hypothetical, of course. I only started watching his show shortly before his suicide because I had an extremely basic cable package that didn't include CNN.

he was on since they limited him so much.

A Cook's Tour is a travel and food television series that aired on the Food Network from 2002 to 2003, hosted by Anthony Bourdain can be seen on YouTube for free. Each is 30 minutes long. Tony hated that channel since they wanted him to do BBQ and that sort of American travel show.

This is a trip to England....

They have big egos. Both these things they have to such a degree they think they should tell the rest of the world who wins and who loses, who lives and who dies. Most of the rest of us are students of life and know we are just a little warp and weave and part of the fabric of those who come before us and those who come after. What else explains the right wing billionaires' race to undo green technology, democracy, diversity and world health.
