Fetterman said the federal Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program (SNAP) is running out of money and people need to eat as the government shutdown dragged into its 21st day.
This is just bad political theater. Open it up, he said.
Asked if he would support Republicans nuking the filibuster to let a House-passed funding measure pass the Senate with a simple-majority vote, Fetterman replied affirmatively.

We shut down a recurring donation last November when he really began to show us that he was straying from the right path.
At this point hes a fucking joke and unresponsive to the peoples will.

(12,278 posts)Former Fetterman rah-rah girl here. Did I ever make a mistake. Supported and donated multiple times to Big John's campaign, something my husband will never let me forget.
I'm waving my Mea Culpa flag now.
This is beyond the regret stage. I am angry, angry.

(54,246 posts)that mistake again. I bet tons of people feel just like you.
Does he really think he will EVER get reelected?!? If so, then he really did fuck up brain cells from his stroke (or something)-. He's committing political suicide.

(1,992 posts)Sent me a nasty text Monday (I thought I had her blocked). It was a copy and paste job from facebook or someplace blaming ALL my health issues on the Covid vaccine.

(77,149 posts)If you are having health issues, with a weakened physical condition you are more likely to
get very will with Covid without a vaccine.
Last year a neighbor had severe covid and then almost died with covid pneumonia.
The doctors said the fact he had the covid vaccine probably saved his life.
It mitigated the impact.

It's her decision to get vaxxed or not.
She needs to let other people make their own decisions too.
I had covid last year and it caused three medical conditions I am still dealing with.
It is covid that does the damage, not the vaccine.

(1,992 posts)that you got sick. That bothers me to read that.
Irish_Dem
(77,149 posts)I had not contracted the virus until last year.
So I had a good run.
And I didn't get really sick and have to go the hospital.
The medical conditions I got from Covid are not life threatening and hopefully will diminish.
After my neighbors almost died I considered myself very lucky.

(17,090 posts)was to be the 51st vote to end the legislative fillinuster. At the time, Dems held the majority in the Senate courtesy of VP Harris being the tie breaking Dem office holder.
If Rs want to reopen the govt that badly, nuking the filibuster is an option they can exercise any time.

Polybius
(21,069 posts)Mitch McConnel expanded it to Supreme Court nominees in 2021. Before each of those rule changes, it would take 60 votes to confirm if anyone filibustered.
For the record, I agree with both rule changes. I like when a simple majority confirms.
