(40,900 posts)Women who are FREE to stay home and be mothers BECAUSE THEY WANT TO, NOT BECAUSE THEY HAVE TO, are also beneficiaries of feminism. A real shame you can't figure that out, but then you obviously must be seriously challenged to be married to the demented freak you chose for a husband.
Talk about failing basic logic and reason.

(1,749 posts)I became a feminist around age 12. I was at the library and looked through the magazine racks and found MS magazine. Nothing was going to change me after that. Between it and all the news magazines I could read (we couldn't afford subscriptions or books, so libraries saved my life), I learned a lot of stuff that added on to all the books I read. I was what they called a voracious reader. I'd read anything. Read the Bible several times, books on other religions, books on rights and laws, anything and everything. Taught myself a little Russian in middle school, even.
This kind of thing is why education is dumbed down, why they want books banned, libraries closed. If you can read and learn stuff, you begin to stop letting the bastards tell you lies. And the internet scares the crap out of them. We can be in contact with people all over the world, have access to other news sources, and generally become thinking beings, instead of the sheeple they want us to be.

(40,900 posts)Lies mass-produced by "AI" bots. Flooding the zone with BS, as Bannon put it.
Much easier and cheaper than taking over the papers, the networks, and the publishers, and faster and more effective too. (Though they're still aiming to do those, too.)
Those who can discern truth from lies must still struggle to separate the wheat from the chaff, while those who can't (or don't really bother to) fill up on chaff/BS/Kool-aid/lies.
I've always been a voracious reader, and continue to be so. But the turnaround time on books is long -- a few months at least. And crap on the Internet is usually free of charge.
ETA: Yes, she's a moron.

(265 posts)I say to her what I say to all these Aunt Lydia/Serena Joy types. If you disapprove of feminism, then quit your job, stay off social media (good wives keep their mouths shut,) hand over everything you own to your husband, take off your shoes, stay in the kitchen and stay pregnant.
Thanks to feminism, she has the choice to do all of that. Of course she won't.
