Greenland: the B word

Trump’s tariffs on the 8 countries amounts to BLACKMAIL. I have yet to hear that descriiption from anyone. No American or European politicians and not from the press. It’s about time someone brings up the obvious fact.

I think it would involve penalties for the US. CNN Don't know if they'll use them.

If you & I know that a huge sell-off would cause a monetary shock, sp do big investors.
Who would be first to make a big buy and self-trigger a financial loss?
Only the late buyers would be getting a bargain.
The US government isn't making any money from bonds. They already have the money.
I don't think that threat, while theoretically accurate, will be as straightforward in execution.

Why yes , they are …

per google

Yes, Inuit people are a distinct Indigenous group recognized and protected under various human rights laws and agreements, particularly in Canada and Greenland, with specific rights to their lands, culture, and self-governance, and are covered under broader anti-discrimination laws based on race, ancestry, and Indigenous identity. They are considered a unique people, not just a minority, with constitutionally protected rights, especially in areas where they form the majority population, like Greenland.

Treat rights : Major land claims agreements (like the Nunavut Land Claims Agreement) grant Inuit significant control over lands, resources, and self-governance in their traditional territories (Inuit Nunangat).

Self determination : Legal recognition supports Inuit efforts to manage their own affairs, lands, and resources, ensuring their worldview influences development in their regions

He's the far-right guy running for president of France in Le Pen's party. I was pleasantly surprised.
