......American, should I be worried when I read the following and surmise that the government may be coming after me?
"But after Trump DOJ leadership issued a series of memos demanding that prosecutors target those who espouse anti-Americanism, anti-capitalism, and anti-Christianity, both the focus and the standards in these cases have changed. The memos direct federal law enforcement to use speech including extremism on migration, race, and gender as key criteria for who to investigate and against whom to bring the most aggressive charges possible".
This from TPM this morning.

You'll recognize the greed, aversion and delusion in those others as weaknesses (which they are) and work to enlighten people to the great way which liberates people from delusion, and gives them the inner light to confront their problems, a sign of strength, and not have to blame others, a sign of weakness.
That light shines through the entire universe.

The secret, hidden in plain sight, is that we help ourselves by helping others. Greedy autocrats would rather that you. don't, because it helps them sell more trash --- and guns.

(24,071 posts)I looked at the customary 8-fold path, and concluded that if people just followed the first four, the world would be vastly better.
1. Right View Understand lifes impermanence and the root of suffering to gain deeper insight.
2. Right Intention Cultivate thoughts of compassion, kindness, and renunciation.
3. Right Speech Speak truthfully, kindly, and avoid gossip or harmful words.
4. Right Action Act ethically and responsibly; avoid harming others.
People seem to slide immediately into the opposites:
Driven by a culture of exploitation. Spare you the lecture. 🪷
