You have compelled me to testify, fully aware that I have no knowledge that would assist your investigation, in order to distract attention from President Trumps actions and to cover them up despite legitimate calls for answers, Clinton said, according to her prepared remarks.
She blasted the House Oversight Committee chairman and argued his committee was not being serious about learning the truth about the pedophile.
She said if it were, it would not rely on press gaggles to get answers from our current president on his involvement; it would ask him directly under oath about the tens of thousands of times he showed up in the Epstein files.
She challenged the Kentucky lawmaker directly to be worthy of the trust the American people have given you.

(6,659 posts)At some point the obsession with civility just becomes a shield for bad-faith attacks. It's exhausting watching people demand decorum while ignoring the stubbornness and absurd political theater coming from critics like James Comer. Sometimes direct, sharp truth is the only reasonable response.

(22,538 posts)...that George W Bush ran on a platform of "RESTORING HONOR AND DIGNITY TO THE WHITE HOUSE"...clearly a "tsk, tsk" aimed at Bill Clinton...then, Bush & Cheney lied our way into the Iraq War.
As you said...consenting adults, legal, coloring way outside of the lines I've drawn in my own life, BUT...
...not an illegal Military assault because Dick Cheney had a thirst for Iraqi oil.

ATTN: James Comer!
It's time to choose country over party.
...time to place Constitution over all else.
... time to be worthy of the trust the American people have given you.
This is a great message for any elected legislator!
