It's not a question what Israel had on Trump to drag him down this path.

It's how many ways did Israel have to pull him into shedding American blood?

It's rebuilding Gaza. Giving Trump support to rebuild Gaza was a huge incentive. And the fact that American soldiers are going to die to give Kushner clearance to build condos on this land is just crazy.

And then, there's the Epstein files. Israel must have had the same intel on Trump as anyone else. So more blackmail info.

Then, there's the midterm elections. It's in Netanyahus interest as much as Trump's that they put an end to our right to vote.

Please, dear God. We need level heads to put an end to this.

What was his excuse then in egging the U.S. towards war? Or 30+ years ago when he started demonizing Iran with the nukes bullshit?

It's a serious misreading of Israeli politics and IDEOLOGY to think this is only about his trial. Trump is already working on having him exonerated.

Nope, Neanyahu's goals are the old Zionist goals of establishing Greater Israel and eliminating the last remaining threats in the region. At any cost. Gaza paid a very high price for Hamas not understanding that fact. Now it's Iran's turn.

I took it to mean the Israeli government. I absolve everyone else.

On edit, to be clear: when I say, "Israeli government," I mean only those higher-ups who make military decisions. My MIL worked for the U.S. government: the IRS (a regular desk job), and it would be absurd for me to blame her for military actions taken by the U.S. government.

Hard right, centrist and the left wing media are referring to the strikes as US-Israel strikes.

And I'm guessing that it's easier for the media to say, "US-Israel strikes" than it is to say "US and Netanyahu controlled Israel strikes."

Which is to say, that people don't just automatically blame the Jews as the poster stated. What happens is that leaders find cover by the countries they lead. And, just as "Israel" will be used to describe the aggressor, instead of the longer, more accurate description as I stated above, so will we be marked as the aggressor. i.e., instead of saying, Trump attacked Iran, many foreigners will be saying it's an American strike.

Clear as mud.

Israel is a tiny sliver of a country surrounded by much larger hostile countries. One miscalculation can end its very existence. Unlike an attack on the United States, there is no margin of error for Israel. It cannot absorb a major blow. It’s been like this since the very beginning.

Nope.

It's not Netanyahu. It's Israel.

Israelis elected him.

They overwhelmingly supported the "war" on Gaza. Turned a blind eye to all the suffering there.

They support the ethnic cleansing of Gaza (delayed, but still the goal - it's coming).

They even want their Palestinian neighbours who are citizens of Israel to leave. Not just the "Arabs" - as they call them - in the West Bank.

I'm wiling to bet that now they support, likely by a majority, this unprovoked, illegal assault on Iran. For "security".

Those who back down on naming the true aggressor or naming the problem - the STATE of Israel - are enabling ISRAEL'S continued immunity for its vile actions against its neighbours and those it continues to occupy and oppress - genocide even. It has to stop.

Just my two cents fwiw.

Thank you for this o/p.

It's "the height of naivety" to assume that Israel is pulling all the strings. Trump and his donors - which include many more than Israel - do evil stupid things all day.

Israel and Trump did this together but instead of blaming Trump (and everyone who voted for him) this OP puts all the blame on Israel.

Seems foolish to me. And unlike you I see nothing to "lol...lol" about in this situation.

I don't blame Israel or America. Although we are both, arguably, to blame for allowing election of them.

The biggest problem with blaming Israel or anybody else is that it lets Trump and the Republicans off the hook.

They'll try to blame this on outside forces and avoid responsibility.
