I am absolutely terrified about the implications of these events and the more I think about it the more I am scared.
We have lost the Olympics.
We have lost the world Cup.
I shudder to think what Iran plans to do in revenge.
We are in trouble.

(80,647 posts)Perhaps Iran will think twice about retaliation.
Trump is insane enough to nuke them back to the Stone Age and not blink.

(1,275 posts)I went to college with several Iranian students. They were bright, willing to learn and good study partners. Not sure if they returned home, but they definitely had something to contribute. Most of them were engineering students.
Later in life, I had Iranian friends, my kids sitter was Iranian, loved them bunches. I worry about their family though, whether they went back to Iran.
They are a very resourceful group, and will
find a way to overcome this situation.

(9,204 posts)They have nothing to use but dumb rockets that are easy to intercept. Their aircraft is non existent, aged and suffer from lack of parts. They do have a large standing army but is useless unless there is a ground invasion which won't happen.

Iran did not pay Jared. No bribe you get attacked. If Iran paid 3 billion and threw in a Peace Prize, negotiations would have continued and Trump would have found another target.
Under Trump, the Saudis, from where the overwhelming majority of the World Trade Center destroyers came, are our masters. All it took was big money into one of the pockets of a Trump family member and our military became mercenaries for Saudi Arabia.
Money talks. it was granted free speech in the US by John Roberts, Supreme Court.
I recommend Rachel Maddow,s analysis of why we attacked Iran.
