(23,638 posts)Shes the patient not me. Shes doing much better and hopefully going home tomorrow. But just wanted to mention it because Ive told her NOTHING about whats going on in the outside world lol. Though I know she knows something is up with drumpf and Iran because another room was blasting it on tv the other night. (Complaint: why do they let tvs in hospitals go up to a volume where people outside the room can hear it??? Not cool)

I hope your wife does better. She's welcome to all the blessing I haven't used up yet. Bless her.

(71,569 posts)... that was just a few days before Christmas along with a second bag. That was depressing. No one is sure what the 'bug' is or even wear exactly it's hiding.
When they took my Bladder, they everything from and including my prostate to both kidneys. They replaced the ureter with sections from my colon. When he opened to the colon he realized there wasn't as much as he thought, so they stopped surgery for over an hour to figure out how Dr Warrior had done her surgery, totally freaking my wife out because of how long it was taking. A thought is that maybe if he could have harvested a few more inches for more slack. The connection at the kidney had a lot scar tissue that was slowing down that kidney's draining, but that it was still at 70% production and took about 15 minutes longer to drain. That little blockage is where they thought the bacteria might be holding out.
The big problem with the colon-ureter is colons have no pain sense, so earlier detection is takes longer before there are are clear symptoms.
This is something that I know one of my Muslim women doctors will solve once I get the American male urologists out of the way.
This something I taught my sales reps: don't ask for the man in charge, talk to the woman who knows what's going on. I will lick this thing yet.

(38,494 posts)Doc put me under, then got an emergency call to clean up someone else's mess. He figured I was under - I could wait. Unfortunately, he didn't tell my family. They were expecting a relatively short surgery.
Then he accidentally punctured the pleura around my lungs and he had to come fess up (not that I would have known if he hadn't). Not his best day. But still my favorite doctor in the world.

(178,852 posts)That's a shame that the doctors couldn't find where your sepsis originated. When I had sepsis two years ago, my doctors couldn't find the source either. They theorized that I got to the ER and on antibiotics so quickly that the culture reports never showed anything. My symptom was feeling off, that's it. I felt sick for the week I was hospitalized, but there was no pain connected with it.
I hope that you keep feeling better and that your women Muslim doctors can isolate the cause. Sepsis is serious.

(76,461 posts)Even more glad you're feeling better.
I had an outpatient thing on Monday, but I was only there around 4 hours total. Much less involved than your visit.
Get well!

Krasnov criticized a NATO ally. We suddenly find we don't have too much ammunition any more. Navy has been doing some joint training with Netanyahoo. Oil prices went up a few cents.
Not anything of note though.

(13,839 posts)My ex-husband had something like this, but it settled mainly in his lower leg and foot. They ended up having to amputate his foot. His turned out to be MRSA, the resistant to antibiotics superbug. It's a sneaky bacteria and hard to treat.
Keep us posted and I hope you get to feeling better
