Senator Murphy says they can't safely open up the Strait, there is no plan

While some people here are sanguine about the Strait of Hormuz and rah-rah'ing the military, someone actually briefed says this

The Strait of Hormuz, a conduit for a fifth of the world’s oil, is all but closed as war in the Middle East expands. A British agency said three ships were hit by unidentified projectiles in or near the strait.

Three ships in the Persian Gulf and Strait of Hormuz were struck in separate incidents on Wednesday, according to a British monitoring agency, as the Middle East war chokes off one of the key conduits for the global oil trade.

Hours before the strikes, the U.S. military said that it had attacked 16 Iranian mine-laying vessels near the Strait of Hormuz, through which a fifth of the world’s oil transits.

... to anyone with the intellectual capacity of a potted plant, but that excludes anyone in Trump's merry band of mental defectives. Two-gun Pete Kegsbreath couldn't find his own ass with both hands and a flashlight, never mind finding the Strait of Hormuz on a map.
We're all doomed.
