I think that at my age, it would be a bad idea to get a new dog. I accepted a rescue cat reluctantly. We love him, but my son knows that he has to inherit the kitty if kitty outlives us.

When I walked our late dog on the trail, I cleaned up her poop. I never left it for other people to step in.

I no longer have a dog but I sure do see poop from dogs and coyotes when I walk. Flagging it with dump's ugly mug might actually inspire the owner, if a MAGAt to clean up after their dog. As for the coyotes, they're not going to clean up after themselves...they're in charge of the neighborhood and I love them.

26. One thing I could never understand when out on trails,

if a dog shitz on the ground, even if it's not picked up, in a matter of weeks or months depending on the weather, it will eventually degrade and breakdown. But now you have these morons putting their dog waste in plastic bags and leaving them on the ground. Which means unless someone else throws it away, it will last a lot, lot longer. WTF is wrong with people?

28. It's a dog owner's "doody" to pick up their dog's mess

It’s actually not OK to not pick up your dogs poop. The obvious reason is someone could step in it, which is really rude and frustrating. However, while it does degrade, feces has a lot of noxious material in it and that runoff can go into streams and depleting the oxygen levels. It’s a massive storm water poollution issue.

If you are someone that cannot “be bothered” to pick up the crap and then carry it until you can find a trash can, you are a bad dog owner and your irresponsibility makes others resent dogs. That is unfair to dogs.
