(12,092 posts)The stripe went all the way across the space leading to a new blue box
for "Open".

I simply found the white stripe annoying and thought I don't need that to
go to another forum. Upon opening the new forum it appeared in a whole
new window and I saw that as more clutter on my already "self-cluttered" desktop.
This morning I've changed my tune. In the screenshot below the white blank space leading to the Open box has been subtly replaced with DU Start a new discussion etc. along with the option to "x" out.

This is a nice, new say to access another forum and start a new discussion.
I apologize for getting riled up.

(23,639 posts)We have not made any changes. That looks like some kind of bookmarking function in your browser (I don't use a Mac so I'm not very familiar with desktop Safari, sorry).

I'm going to respond to the folks who replied to my original post then self-delete it.
