Viktor Orban set to lose Hungarian election ABC NEWS (AU)

Hungarian Prime Minister Viktor Orban is predicted to lose the Hungarian election after 16 years in the top job.
The controversial leader is accused of undermining the country’s democracy and suppressing LGBTQIA+ rights but has retained the support of US President Donald Trump and Russian counterpart Vladimir Putin.
Opposition leader Peter Magyar, who is Orban’s former ally, is now leading by at least 10 per cent in most polls.

A trend with this crowd. That inability should be considered a personal problem and nothing more,

. . . but please tell me when a dictator has gone softly into that quiet night??

In our own history we have only to look at Jan 6, 2021. Actually, we could look back at several elections where the loser challenged things -- Hayes-Tilden election of 1876 that led directly to the end of Reconstruction and the emergence of Southern Redemptionism . . . .

If Orban loses, expect to see troops in the streets, seizing ballot boxes and arresting his opponents - - - exactly what Trump plans for 2026 and 2028. There will be bloodshed.

And the only question that remains is this: How much bloodshed will be required here in Nov 2026 and November 2028 to stop Trump?

Still at least somewhat right wing.
Democracy in Politics is not black/white, good guy/bad guy, my team/your team. It's about understanding where national social and economic risks are and matching personalities to the realistic plans they have to reduce those risks
Whether or not they've picking the lesser of two evils is still up in the air.
