(2,815 posts)I will vote yes April 21 for the counter re-districting plan.
I received a flyer from a republican outfit urging 'vote no' and which harped about the unfairness of it all, which included testimonials from Obama, Virginia governor Abigail Spanberger, and another Virginia politician, all three condemning gerrymandering - as if they were voting no!
Yes of course they do oppose gerrymandering, but they are NOT condemning what we do in response to Texas firing the first shot last year.
Punching people hard is usually against the law, and counter punching is acceptable, which is what Virginia democrats are doing. Counter gerrymandering, counter rigging.

(2,815 posts)Polls have a relatively close race, last I saw was something like 53 yes, 48 no, which is too close for comfort. Another more recent and more welcome was 55 yes - 44.
Repubs trying to work up enthusiasm en masse to vote to block which could work, while some democrats on horns of dilemma to vote for what too many perceive as being wrong. Or abstain from voting.
