Trump wants to be able to say ANYTHING without any consequences to himself. When he does get pushback, then words come out of his mouth which are intended to completely absolve him of whatever it was people didn't like. And everyone is supposed to just forget about it until he does it again--probably within a matter of hours. Rinse, repeat. Rinse, repeat.
