in an interview. If he'd not denied it people would be saying "how hard would it have been to deny it if it's not true?". I understand why he's protesting the characterization by the alleged gunman. Doesn't mean I necessarily believe him, but the protesting of it in that context seems logical. I would scream and yell "fuck that, I am no such thing!" in that situation as well

It makes sense in the context to say "no I'm not" because Trump knows people are accusing him of this extremely widely, and he was asked to respond to what the shooter wrote.

There's a billion misdeeds to tear him down over, I'm not convinced this is a particularly logical angle with which to do so, but to each their own.
