Thought this was interesting this morning on Velshi's show. Karen Tumulty of the Washington Post said that it wasn't so much that he was angry at Cornyn. Rather, he is angry at John Thune. He wants revenge on Thune because Thune did not fire the Senate Parliamentarian or change the filibuster so that he could rule as a king as he desires.
With Paxton running and Cornyn's formidable fundraising stymied, he is getting revenge on Thune by making his job of keeping the Senate more difficult.
Way to go there, Donnie! That'll show him!
Talk about cutting off ones nose to spite oneself.

(6,449 posts)Thune could do a lot of damage to Trump. He won't because Republicans are afraid of Trump. But the reality is the Thune could really embarrass Trump and all but end his presidency. Trump is really daring him to do so.

(25,763 posts)I mean Cornyn beat Paxton in the primary, but there was that other guy. And I don't remember seeing any head to head polls after the primary.

(14,132 posts)The felon doesn't like to lose. if it hadn't been pretty clear Cornyn was going to lose at the point he endorsed Paxton, there would have been no endorsement.
Had trump endorsed Cornyn, that could have made a difference with MAGA folk. As it is, I doubt the endorsement did much of anything.
