Although we can relax because it looks like Becerra is going to make it on the ballot and we avoided a two R ticket, it is still unfolding and things can change. A recent update on NBC news showed the amount of votes for the top three candidates with 57.7 reporting.
Hilton 1,459,479
Becerra 1, 371,066
Steyer 1,063,864
The weird thing is that there 3,904,000 votes estimated to be outstanding. That's more than the total of the three above. So things could still change, but not in a way that puts Becerra at risk. With so many votes still to be counted, and mail in votes favoring Dems historically, I predict that Steyer still has a chance to be in the top two.

(557 posts)Are giving Steyer and Hilton omroughly the same chance of being Governor.

(25,779 posts)But I still think that with so many outstanding mail in ballots, Steyer has a chance. It's based on the fact that Dems were withholding their ballots until the last minute and they vote more by mail anyway.

Hilton has no chance of winning in November
