I used to go every other month or so with friends or family. We'd go shopping or to the museums , shows and always to our favorite restaurants. It's changed a lot since and we don't go as often, just when a museum has a show we want to see.

Now we just drive up to Milwaukee, closer and less traffic.

and I I'm sure I'll have a great time!

The architecture. The museums.

I'm a bit of a physical geography buff. I lived on the island Manhatran for about the first 2/3rds of my life. I've been right by all the waterways: west- Hudson River; east - East, and Harlem Rivers; north- Sputen Dyvil; and south - Upper Hudson Bay.

Now Chicago as you know a totally different experience facing a vast lake!
Come to think of it- it will be a bit like being in Coney Island facing the ocean; only I won't have a big city right behind me; that area of Brooklyn is less dense.

Will have both deep dish pizza, and rhe ultra thin tavern pizza.

I always the Subway of different cities, so I'll do that.

And of course go see Obama's library.

With the huge ice blocks washing up on shore... I was living in Carol Stream and Grays Lake during my time there. Had my oldest sis come for a month and did all the tourist stuff, including Lake Geneva! Watched the postal boat delivery. Museums are amazing. But the warm lovely people, make it!
I hope you're able to reach your goal. And I totally agree, train is awesome. The Pier... endless fun. We didn't hit every thing for her in a month. Elderly and had to pace. Plus our backyard wildlife. Lol
Good luck! 🥰

Crater Lake, waterfalls, our coast, dunes... high desert... Mountain lakes, rivers. The parks my dad helped build.
I love my Oregon.
Then some day, meet up in Florida Keys! 2 hurricanes, Dennis and Wilma, but man, still would be my second choice for life. Loved every minute, except, hurricanes. Lol

My sis did a Chicago boat re: architecture tour. Loved it. I will do all my research, and hope it won't be too hard to pick out what I want to do.

Born & bred. Lived in 3 boroughs. Know Manhattan the most: museums, parks, waterfront, some neighborhoods, some restaurants still around (way less restaurant going [$]), special seasonal events. One part of Brooklyn & parts of da Bronx where I am now.

Been fun, see you around.
