How to go slumming in a place that has no slums.

My younger daughter, the one based in Frankfurt, had something to do in Monaco. It‘s no big deal to get there for her—a one hour flight to Nice, and then a 25 minute taxi ride. After work was completed, the whole group had booked a table for dinner at some fancy restaurant. Don‘t ask me which, I‘ve never been to Monaco.

Things were going fine until one of Trump‘s sons walked in. My daughter‘s group considered their three options: puking, getting up and leaving, or holding it in and saying nothing. They opted for Door Number Three, but I‘m not sure the vote was unanimous. I guess the food must have been pretty good.

They would panic if they got no icy stares. That would (or should!) indicate to them that their presence surprised no one, which means they were probably expected, and by people who wished them ill.

So maybe it was Eric? I don't know... but I guess I would have done the same thing your daughter did.

The couple appeared relaxed in the sunshine, dressed casually but stylishly, and mingled among a celebrity crowd including Kim Kardashian, Catherine Zeta-Jones, and Michael Douglas. ".... (more)

near Lincoln Center once, and a large rat showed up outside the window we were sitting in front of, eating what appeared to be a tangerine. When the waiter brought our meal, we pointed it out to him. He said, "rats are everywhere around here, you get used to them."

Same must be true in Monaco, I guess...
