https://apnews.com/article/strait-of-hormuz-iran-us-shipping-war-01c1335e69e40f2ee921e25e59a18a71Phillip Belcher, marine director of Intertanko, a trade group for global independent tanker owners, said the main central route of the Strait of Hormuz was still closed and has an estimated 80 mines that need to be cleared. But ships have been passing through the smaller northern route, which goes through Iranian waters, and the southern route, which goes through Omani waters.
However, it will take weeks or months to fully reopen the strait, and the two alternative routes dont have as much capacity as the central passage in the Strait of Hormuz.
This is like a highway where the road in the middle is closed and youre using that hard shoulder, Belcher said. Thats now being used as the main route. We need to get back to having the highway open.
Lloyds List estimated that 550 merchant ships will need to prepare to exit the Persian Gulf, including 160 tankers, 200 bulk carriers, 60 container ships and 10 vehicle carriers.

Really Trump is just in survival mode now. He hates the job, loves the title and just wants to escape the presidency with his billions he looted, and likely won't live long to enjoy.

And Tiffany gets a big zero...

(14,459 posts)6. He has never told a truth that would reflect badly on him.
And I would bet he's never told the full truth on anything.
Just as "he has never once said anything wry, witty or even faintly amusing not once, ever."

Someone on the question-and-answer website Quora asked Why do some British people not like Donald Trump? Nate White, an articulate and witty writer from England wrote the following response:
A few things spring to mind.
Trump lacks certain qualities which the British traditionally esteem.
For instance, he has no class, no charm, no coolness, no credibility, no compassion, no wit, no warmth, no wisdom, no subtlety, no sensitivity, no self-awareness, no humility, no honour and no grace all qualities, funnily enough, with which his predecessor Mr. Obama was generously blessed.
So for us, the stark contrast does rather throw Trumps limitations into embarrassingly sharp relief.
Plus, we like a laugh. And while Trump may be laughable, he has never once said anything wry, witty or even faintly amusing not once, ever.
I dont say that rhetorically, I mean it quite literally: not once, not ever. And that fact is particularly disturbing to the British sensibility for us, to lack humour is almost inhuman.
But with Trump, its a fact. He doesnt even seem to understand what a joke is his idea of a joke is a crass comment, an illiterate insult, a casual act of cruelty.
Trump is a troll. And like all trolls, he is never funny and he never laughs; he only crows or jeers.
And scarily, he doesnt just talk in crude, witless insults he actually thinks in them. His mind is a simple bot-like algorithm of petty prejudices and knee-jerk nastiness.
There is never any under-layer of irony, complexity, nuance or depth. Its all surface.
Some Americans might see this as refreshingly upfront.
Well, we dont. We see it as having no inner world, no soul.

... which somehow means the entire strait is fully open.
