4. He was never ahead two points in this poll

Different polls have different samples and metrics used for their results. But yeah: the attacks are definitely helping consolidate Paxtons base.

While concerning, Talarico still has a large warchest and innovative strategies to combat the massive superpac money and billions in propaganda being spent against him. In short: He's only getting started.

He has a hard path ahead of him. I contributed 25$. I am going to try to do the same before June 30th.

and it seems like independent and right-leaning voters are considering him "the lesser of two evils" because they dislike his support of trans people, hate that he said God is non-binary, etc etc etc. However, they are appalled by Paxton's corruption, so they're willing to vote for Talarico or stay home -- it's a default decision, but it's just perverse considering that Talarico has been so moderate about virtually everything in his career. So just emphasize his moderation while having outside groups run constant ads about Paxton's criminality.

“Drowning”, the title of this ad, is what so many voters are facing and Talarico is hammering that home. Hopefully, more and more voters are listening.

9. I have a 37 year old son that is a Christian
Tue Jun 23, 2026, 06:51 AM

He lives outside of Dallas (now he does, but he grew up in So Cal). He goes to church every Sunday. And is truly a Christian man. He is thoughtful, loving, and generous. But he has been a Trump supporter since 2016. He has skewed ideas about immigration and really is uninformed. He doesn't see any problem with having an id to vote. He doesn't understand what is behind it. He is busy working and raising two small children. He is in the 1 percent. I don't see him voting for Talarico and it makes me so sad.

11. How does he feel about bombing schools in Iran,

enabling genocide in Palestine, and building concentration camps here in the US? Any "Christian" thoughts on that?

I live in the suburbs of Houston and know many like him. Many work in the Oil and Gas industry in some way - whether it's trading, pipeline, etc. The whole "I'm a Christian" thing and being "thoughtful, loving, and generous" doesn't really hold up when you see what they are willing to support (even if they are supporting it through inaction).

15. You'd have to be blind, deaf and dumb not to know about the situation in the Middle East -

and what of the Epstein Files? Just consorting with someone like Jeffrey Epstein is bad enough, let alone some of the allegations against Trump. Further, he is a felon and would be in jail in the state of NY if he hadn't "won" the presidency.

"Not aware" is poppycock, to put it mildly.

17. People get their information primarily from tiktok
Tue Jun 23, 2026, 01:07 PM

...or facebook -or slanted cable news opinions.

Regardless of your political persuasion, that is generally a world that is intended to mislead rather than inform. Much of the population has largely turned off any reliable conveyor of information to their outside world, and essentially live in an information vacuum. Sometimes they might only wake up when they are directly impacted by a problem. Even then, they might not.

ignore a lot - but to say they're unaware of the situation in the Middle East because they only watch Tik Tok is ridiculous. My husband loves TikTok and he goes on & on about what Isreal is doing to Palestinians, and he sees this all on Tik Tok.

I'm not buying any of it, and I'm not giving them a pass on their behavior. They own Trump, they voted for him, and they need to join reality and acknowledge (at least to themselves) that he has not been good for our country.

Giving people a pass because they act "nice" is not helpful.

14. I think his run is getting a lot of the established TX GOP nervous

as seen by the vague fears, unsourced uncertainties and ill-defined doubts being peddled by the RW base as a reponse to his quiet and competent ascendancy.

I think Taylor Rehmet's surprise victory over his GOP competitor in a deep red district in a deep red state (pulling in over 3/4s of the independent vote) turned a page in TX.
