You have a right to your opinion but you obviously have never watched a loved one suffer and die of a treatable disease so an insurance company can make more money

(66,043 posts)... manufacturer, who do you recommend I shoot dead in the streets without due process or even being accused of any crime?
Or the head of a huge multi-national company that sells baby formula to African nations and discourages nursing, that then encourages thinning the formula to save money or stretch a supply. That then causes developmental problems with the children. Who should I shoot: the CEO, the Head of Marketing, the CTO? Who?

(66,043 posts)... I lost my Cadillac insurance at 60. Then there were symptoms. I had to go to VA. Am I glad I did. But I was prepared to die and there was nothing I could do about it: except I had enlisted, like only about two or three percent of the country have. All things being equal, except for VA, I would have died.
I posted these two OPs right after my second cancer surgery. I still post the second one about once a year:

But not this year, it seems. Can't find it. It was by a member called medical admin. I did find his wife's letter when he died because of feuding insurance companies over two events, that timely treatment would have saved his life.
He's on the in memorial page, this is his wife's letter: https://www.democraticunderground.com/1002632763
Been closer to it and around and dealt with it a lot more than you think.

(45,331 posts)My sense is that he was mad at the insurance system, but not because of a personal grievance. Well, I'm no fan of the insurance system, but it would never occur to me to murder an insurance executive in cold blood.
I guess the question is why haven't you killed an insurance executive if you think doing so is justified?

(916 posts)I think the killing had something to do with the pain management he didnt get. Ive suffered with sometimes severe back pain for the last 23 years. Its not fun. I have a neighbor with it, he drank too much to start with, now he drinks and takes pain killers deal with it. He has Arachnoiditis. I just have Degenerative disc disease and a collapsed disc. I do not take any prescription pain killers, though I expect in the future I will have to. For now I use otcs and endure and sometimes I fly off the handle at things, people and life in general.
