Israel launched a series of airstrikes against Iran early Friday morning local time, targeting locations it said were related to Iran’s nuclear program. Iranian state media reported that Hossein Salami, Commander-in-Chief of Iran’s Revolutionary Guards Corps [IRGC] was killed in the strikes.
Israel’s Defense Minister Israel Katz declared a state of emergency shortly after the strikes began, and warned people that “a missile and drone attack against the State of Israel and its civilian population is expected in the immediate future.” Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu told the nation, “this operation will continue for as many days as it takes to remove this threat.”
All incoming and outgoing flights from Tel Aviv’s Ben Gurion International Airport have been canceled. Meanwhile, Iran’s state-run media reports multiple fatalities in the capital city, Tehran. Regarding the highly colored and imaginative maps in some editions of Bibles popular in America, not everyone has one in their home, altho the Evangelicals probably do. It’s just that as a child in the 1950s I would read anything in print, and I remember my more conservative Protestant friends had these colorful maps in their holy books. I remembered this many decades later when this insane “restoration of Biblical boundaries” idea got publicity. In my mind’s eye I overlaid that over a modern map of the ME and all I could see was a huge war
