Florida sheriff warns protesters ahead of nationwide rallies: 'We will kill you dead'

Source: The Independent

A Florida sheriff issued a stark message to protesters planning to demonstrate this weekend against increasing ICE arrests nationwide.

-snip-

“If you block an intersection or a roadway in Brevard County, you are going to jail. If you flee arrest, you’re going to go to jail tired because we are going to run you down and put you in jail,” Brevard County Sheriff Wayne Ivey said.

-snip-

“If you spit on us, you’re going to the hospital and then jail,” he continued. “If you hit one of us, you’re going to the hospital and jail, and most likely get bitten by one of our big, beautiful dogs we have here.

“If you throw a brick, a firebomb, or point a gun at one of our deputies, we will be notifying your family where to collect your remains, because we will kill you, graveyard dead.

As far as I know a Sherriff is usually an elected count-level official with no direct connection to the state government or the Governor. State Police fall under a Governors' control, but not local or county law enforcement.

I agree that what he said was wrong on both moral and legal levels. And that it may reflect DeSantis' views. Just arguing there is probably not a direct command relationship between the two.

Which I've always said these people will become their most dangerous ,unhinged, and violent when they are convinced the tide has turned and they are on there way out for good, just look ,the entire thing was started by Taco to break the news cycle of him receiving another foot in the ass every week, guess everyone everywhere should not say anything to upset all the " tough guy" maga self flattering types ,"cause they gonna kill somebody if they don't stop making us look bad" completely insane and very likely

Because wherever you are, Brevard County Sheriff Wayne Ivey, you make chickenshit threats against purely imagined strangers with a purpose to intimidate.

Why? Because after 42 years of public service, you demonstrate you're completely unqualified to actually protect and serve.

The Police Dog As Weapon of Racial Terror
Police K-9 units in the United States emerged during the Civil Rights era. This was not a coincidence.

There were experiments with police dogs in England as early as the 1870s and Paris in the 1910s. Police dogs appeared on the streets of New York in 1907, but law enforcement “canine corps” didn’t become institutionalized until after Brown v. Board of Education (1954) and the Montgomery Bus Boycott (1955–1956). Baltimore (1956) and St. Louis (1958) were the pioneers. By early 1960, at least twenty-four police departments had K-9 units. Many more would soon follow, by no means confined to the South.
… The German connection was overt in Mississippi in 1961. That year, the Jackson police borrowed Happy and Rebel, two German Shepherds, from the Vicksburg police to use against Black college students staging a sit-in in a segregated public library. A local newspaper (“Police Dogs Emphasize Law, Order”) reported, and not in a critical way, that the dogs had been trained by an East German refugee who was a “former Nazi storm trooper who trained Dobermans to guard Hitler’s airports.”

This man doesn't belong in law enforcement. He's a walking time bomb that's going to cost Florida millions of dollars in civil suits, not to mention assault and possibly even murder.
He should resign from his position. That's the best way he can protect and serve his community.

So you won't even think about engaging. Just as in the animal kingdom there are those animals that are capable of becoming larger and louder to ward off predators.

Republicans in general are cowards, scared of everything they've made up in their own minds. They're incapable of evolving. They don't know how to use their words or play by the rules. They bring guns and torches to protest. We bring signs and candles.
They storm the Capital, we stand outside on the steps and talk.

It may not feel like it, but we are winning. That's why they, from the top down, are so reactionary. If you're are truly in control, you don't need to threaten, yell or become violent. You calmly tell people what you want and expect them to do as told.

This is desperation because things aren't going as they planned. 2026 is getting closer and closer.

The law is on our side and we have patience. You don't see riots in Los Angeles, for the most part, you see peaceful protests. That frustrates them. It's not part of the plan.

The Sheriff’s departments in most FL counties aren’t going to tolerate roads being blocked, letting suspects run away or their deputies being assaulted, they will retaliate with excessive force and basically have a blank check to do so because DeSantis will remove any state prosecutor that tries to hold them accountable.
