Iran is reeling from Israel's unprecedented attack - and it is only the start
Source: BBC
Israel's "Operation Rising Lion", as it calls its attack on Iran, is unprecedented. It is vastly more extensive and ambitious than anything that has come before, including the two missile and drone exchanges it had with Iran last year. For Iran, this is the biggest assault on its territory since the Iran-Iraq War of 1980-1988
...
Iran is reeling and this may be only the first wave. There will be many more potential targets on Israel's hitlist, although some may be beyond its reach, buried deep underground in reinforced bases beneath solid rock.

(2,793 posts)This was the intent of Trump withdrawing from the JCPOA in 2018, to facilitate an attack on Iran justified by Irans nuclear threat.

(25,451 posts)Netanyahu is like trump, thinking he can do whatever he wants and no one is going to stop him. Like I said earlier in another thread--nobody knows for sure if Iran may already have nukes or not.

(627 posts)Also, it is to reduce their nuclear program. Problem
is, it will only solidify their resolve to have nukes to
prevent this from happening in the future. This a war
between Jews & Muslims and nobody has the balls to
admit it.

(15,597 posts)Why would Iran get nuked? And from who?
Israel doesn't have to nuke Iran, and neither does the US or any nuke armed country, conventional means alone are more than enough to neutralize Iran.
Eko
(9,374 posts)The person I asked it of said exactly "Ill support *ANYTHING* Israel or the US does to them." I fail to see how it is and odd question in any way.
MarineCombatEngineer
(15,597 posts)but just for the record, I would most definitely not support a nuclear strike on Iran, there's no need for it and Israel knows there's no need for it.
Eko
(9,374 posts)Between our B1's, B2's and 52's there is no need to. I just thought that was an extreme stance and asked for clarification.
MarineCombatEngineer
(15,597 posts)nuking Iran would be a colossal disaster and a horrendous war crime for any nation.

He tried to use them in his first term, stopped

Their luck wont last forever. Expect attacks against US interests as well. Iran and its allies will keep striving for ways to inflict retribution.

(3,186 posts)Its why Israel held back after Irans ballistic missile and drone barrages in 2024 - They knew they needed to focus their attention on Irans irregular forces, their terrorist proxies.

(9,862 posts)3 or 4 groups of ballistic missiles attached Israel today with missile defense systems not working at 100%. Interesting - but from what Ive read on social media today, its the rare person supporting Israel. Many Republicans have had it with Trump today - Trump referring to himself as the peace candidate and then being for all the wars.
