Laura Loomer Accuses Tim Scott of 'Trying to Sabotage' Trump

Far-right political activist Laura Loomer hit out at Senator Tim Scott, a South Carolina Republican, over his comments he made in response to controversial video that was posted, then deleted from President Donald Trump's Truth Social account on Friday.

"I showed this tweet posted by Tim Scott to President Trump last night. 14 million views on a lie because [Scott] wants to cost the GOP the midterms & smear President Trump," Loomer, a staunch supporter of Trump, wrote in part on her X account on Saturday. "Why hasn’t he deleted this tweet? He is deliberately trying to sabotage President Trump." Newsweek reached out to Scott's office by email on Saturday afternoon for comment.

Why It Matters

Trump set off a media firestorm on Friday after it surfaced that a video about alleged voter fraud in the 2020 election posted to his Truth Social account had a brief clip at the end that showed former President Barack Obama and his wife Michelle Obama's smiling faces superimposed onto the bodies of apes.

White House press secretary Karoline Leavitt rejected criticism of the post as "fake outrage," but after Scott posted on his X account the video was "the most racist thing I’ve seen out of this White House," the video was deleted, and the White House later said a staffer posted the video to the account and the president had not seen the full video.

In a career spanning 40 years, I have never encountered this type of rhetoric. The Right never used to talk like this. So who on our side has legitimized this type of vile degradation? It’s a question worth thinking about.

She's like Stefanik...too much for Trump.

With Stefanik, I guess the reason was that she's so NEEDY. I KNEW people like her in my younger days. They'd show up and before they opened their mouth it was "OH NO, not HER again." She also is light years away from "hot," by Trump's definition. I don't think Kristi Noem is hot, but until the Cricket story came out, I GUARANTEE YOU she was his top pick for VP. She had the same level of flattery and fealty as Stefanik, but...too creepy. Not to say that Noem's not creepy...she certainly is. Just a different kind, that doesn't rub Trump the wrong way.

Loomer's got the Botox / plastic surgery "Mar-a-Lago" face, but she took it too far into the Creature from the Black Lagoon zone. Last time I saw a face like that it was cleaning the algae from the inside walls of a fish tank. So she's crazy and not hot, two big strikes in Trump's book.

And, there's a bit of the "What the hell is wrong with Elon" thing (Trump's comment after Musk did the bouncing prancing drugged moron thing at his MAGAt rally).

SOMETIMES, in her zeal to please the master, she says things that cause him to back-pedal, directly or indirectly.

18. But the difference between Loomer and Stefanik

is that Loomer is a bomb-thrower like MTG and Stefanik was "the obedient servant".

So Loomer does it to get the attention of and stay relevant with the MAGats, to keep her rabid "followers" entertained.

Meanwhile Stefanik was seeking to become part of the "power structure" but 45's GOP is not the group that would ever want to accommodate her because she is not ruthless enough.

You see Tulsi Gabbard trying to shoe-horn herself into the "ruthless club". But that is a tricky thing to do when you see members like Noem and possibly even Bondi, a step away from being ousted from that.

...with Trump, I am reminded of something a manager in a company I worked for told me something, years ago.

My manager was 10 kinds of awful. He'd worked with her in various companies for decades. He told me "One day you might end up on her LIST. You may not know it the moment it happens. But if you go ON it, you'll NEVER come off."

And, it was true. In hindsight he might have been alerting me to the fact that I was already on it. I was out of the company shortly after that.

Trump does the same thing, but because he's a whore for money and fealty and if you bring him both, like Musk and Bezos and Zuckerberg, you're GOLD...you CAN get back ON his list, but in a diminished form. Like Musk. He and Trump supposedly kissed and made up, but this time, we don't see him 7 days a week. That might be by design on his part. He's not gonna get that 1 trillion salary bump if he keeps stepping into the MAGAt spotlight.

But look at Kari Lake. I'd say she had the same level of ambition and anticipation as Stefanik and Noem, but she's too toxic, even for Trump. People really, really don't like her...even in her home state...and having her around would have been a constant drag on his "headlines."

But interestingly, some like Susie Wiles & Linda McMahon (both older women too) have kept their heads down (although obviously McMahon's connections are part of that too, with her being a (wealthy) "working class"-affiliated version of Betsy DeVos).

... desperately dependent on ATTENTION! When she doesn't get enough to satisfy her ever-increasing need for a fix, she escalates the malice and mendacity of her attacks to absurd levels.
The solution? Ignore her. Don't give her the satisfaction of your attention to her histrionics; don't publish her rants and accusations. Treat her as if she wasn't even there, like you can see right through her. Deprived of the oxygenating attention she craves, she will implode. Let her clean toilets with her toothbrush to earn a crust of bread.
Few, if any, will mourn her passing from the public spotlight. Yeah, I know the hard-core hyenas of MAGA-land will always give her some attention, but that will never be enough; her addiction is too far gone. She will shrivel and shriek like the Wicked Witch of the West when drenched with the cleansing waters of truth and common human decency until there's nothing left of her but her tattered, tasteless wardrobe. Then we can get down to rebuilding what Trump tried so hard to destroy.
