Teens get probation after using AI to create fake nudes of classmates
Source: AP
Two teenage boys who used artificial intelligence to create fake nude photos of their classmates at an exclusive private school in Pennsylvania received probation Wednesday after dozens of victims described the images traumatizing effect on them.
The boys were 14 at the time. They admitted this month that they made about 350 images, showing at least 59 girls under 18, along with other victims who so far have not been identified.
Authorities said the boys took images of the girls from school photos, yearbooks, Instagram, TikTok and FaceTime chats in 2023 and 2024, and morphed them with images of adults depicting nudity or sexual activity.

One young woman told Brown how excruciating it is to bring these feelings up again and again. Another choked back tears as she excoriated one of the defendants for expressing fake empathy as girls confided with him about their pain, before it became known that he had been part of creating and disseminating the images. Still another said all of her friends transferred schools, and that she needed trauma therapy to even walk around my neighborhood.

Judge Leonard Brown said he hadn't heard either of the boys take responsibility or apologize. He also said they would probably be headed for state prison if they were adults.

(19,294 posts)Ruin them/their parents. Give them something to be remorseful about, since the state won't.

Too common a way of thinking. Right, Mr Epstein?
6 months of home detention with 'no touch' orders on computer use would have been more appropriate.
With civil cases involved.

(9,947 posts)It's outrageous they just got probation. Since they were 14 at the time, I understand not chargin them as adults, but what they did was heinous and certainly merits more than probation. And they didn't ever take responsibility or apolgize. 59 girls will be scarred for life, and they get probation. Outrageous.

(2,553 posts)Right now there are children in ICE jails after not having committed any crimes.
350 separate pornographic images of actual under age girls assisted by AI creations. Yeah, that's stupidity of felonious criminal behavior. Minimum 364 days in lockup. It's under 1 year, they can get their record expunged in a few years if, they behave.
We don't need more T....ps victimizing more girls because they thought it was funny.
I don't want DU jail, or I would tell you exactly the Justice I would serve if it were my daughter.
