President Donald Trump's assistant attorney general for civil rights, Harmeet Dhillon, attended the wedding ceremony of Caroline Wren, a prominent activist who helped organize the key January 6 rally affiliated with the "Stop the Steal" conspiracy theory movement.
According to liberal elections outlet Democracy Docket, "Photos posted to social media show Dhillon celebrating aboard a yacht alongside Wren during the Palm Beach wedding festivities a gathering that brought together figures from Trump-aligned political circles. In one image, Dhillon poses arm-in-arm with Wren, who helped organize the Jan. 6, 2021 Save America rally that preceded the attack on the U.S. Capitol."
The "Save America" rally featured Trump, who directly encouraged the crowd to "fight like hell" or America would cease to exist. While this rally wasn't explicitly connected to the January 6 riot that stormed the U.S. Capitol, many individuals participated in both.
"Dhillon ... has become a central figure in Trumps annihilation of federal civil rights enforcement particularly around voting rights. "Wren has not only remained active in Republican political circles but has also publicly supported Dhillons rise within the party.
