Trump Posts Jesus-Like Picture of Himself Performing Miracle on Sick Man, Minutes After Ramping Up Feud With Pope Leo

President Donald Trump posted an AI-generated image of himself seemingly in the role of Jesus Christ on Sunday night, complete with the robe-donning president reinvigorating a sick man with his healing hand while a nurse looked on and an American Eagle soared above.

The bizarre — and some would probably argue sacrilegious — post was made about 40 minutes after the president went off on Pope Leo XIV in a blistering social media rant. More on that below.

Trump’s picture had a lot going on in it. Beyond the aforementioned details, a praying woman and a man wearing what looks to be some sort of ICE uniform look on pensively as Trump works his miracle.

The president’s hand is lit up in a holy manner, and behind him is the American flag and the Statue of Liberty; fighter jets and what appears to be soldiers who have become angels are also seen above Trump; an American soldier is also seen watching Trump as he cures the man in a hospital bed.

Particular conservative evangelicals. They’re often extremely greedy, worship money and wealth over all else, don’t care for their neighbors unless they think, look, and vote the way they do.

I don’t see this as often among Christians from many other countries (other than various African countries where they can be extremely conservative).

Christians throughout the world are a very diverse bunch, ranging many denominations. Many may have some conservative personal beliefs, but for the most part, they favor a social safety net, but don’t support outright fascist policies. Depending on the country’s culture, they may even support LGBT or abortion rights.

We have a weird strain of white nationalism mixed with Christianity, which is particularly toxic. I like how Talarico addresses this.

People have found an earlier version, posted by some MAGA fan, that had another soldier where the demon/flying liberty is now. So I guess someone went to AI and said "replace the middle soldier with ..." . I wouldn't think they meant it to be something evil, and whatever they said, they thought the result was "cool". Whether it has the right number of spikes may not matter to them, and like AI drawing people with the wrong number of fingers, the number of spikes is not something it can "think" about.

A human artist (or the one instructing AI) might say the Statue of Liberty is a statue (though not in the right geographical location), while the flying version is "the real thing". If someone thinks Trump is a Jesus replacement, then they could easily believe there is an actual "Lady Liberty" supernatural spirit that does flypasts while St. Don has glowing, healing hands.

I am a lymphoma survivor.
I was first diagnosed in 1990; it returned in 2002 and 2019.
When, it returned in 2019, I had to go through five different treatments to find a successful one.
ACA provides me protection against lifetime limits.
ACA is a law Trump wanted to repeal in 2017 and still wants to repeal.
When it returned in 2019, it was near my spinal column.
I will not paint a picture of the suffering that I would have endured if Trump was successful in repealing ACA and there were no more lifetime limits.

Not to mention the thousands of lives lost due in part due to his COVID policies in his first term.

One of Trump's main voting blocs were the Catholics. Even left-leaning Catholics, the sort that were our comrades, kept hating abortions so much that many of them went into the voting booth and voted for Trump, because they knew we would kill Abortion rights. Now they can see what Trump and his evangelicals thought of them.

Also, let us not mice words, when Trump invoked the "Avignon" era, he was trying to pave a way for some Catholics, who were mad at the late Pope Francis, to establish a conservative branch, away from Rome. It has already happened to the Episcopal, where a group of "Anglican" parishes broke away from canterbury. The issue was over women clergy, somewhere where the Vatican still lags behind. Just you watch the Leonard Leos try their coup.
