8 crew members believed dead in B-52 crash at Edwards Air Force Base in California, officials say

Eight crew members are believed to be dead after a B-52 bomber crashed shortly after takeoff from Edwards Air Force Base in California on Monday, officials said.
The B-52 Stratofortress, which was reportedly on a routine test mission, crashed shortly after takeoff at 11:20 a.m.
“Initial indications are that the crash was not survivable,” the air force base said in a statement.
Emergency response personnel were still on the scene Monday afternoon, and officials are working to account for all personnel. The cause of the crash is currently under investigation.
