Mustang, Challenger Hellcat, Camaro - which *LOUD* ones are tormenting this old grouch?
I rode in a Camaro 40 years ago and it wasn't loud but Google popped it out in Search for "loud sports cars". Police here call it joy-riding, with some apparent admiration. The drivers are surely in their 20s and early 30s, how do they afford them or do daddys buy them?
So the traffic has exploded in the decades at this location with the crosstown street three houses away acting like an expressway/racetrack. O.K., "normal" workday congestion is one thing, but add a heavy layer of heavy trucks, motorcycles, ambulances complete with sirens (and police/fire sirens), occasional blaring boom sound systems *sharing* their exquisite taste in music.
The real gripes are the late night ROARINGS sometimes frilled with cannon explosions, often headed to a location east of here where racing sounds are heard in the distance, one possibly living on my front street turning in from the corner for the special treat of ROARING past my front, with any of all the above often featured at 2 or 3 in the morning.
Bikers. Some. There are Public Service Announcements and street signs admonishing that we should take care to look out for them, fine. But a significant number are daredevils switching lanes, speeding, refusing to wear helmets because of their invincibility doncherno. I've seen at least two hospitalized in comas but try mentioning it to a non-wearer. But the topic is the ROARING.
*** Fun suggestion when I vented about this: Somebody said, "Why don't YOU go live out in the country?!"
