The DU Lounge
Related: Culture Forums, Support ForumsJust got my most recent lab results back. Nothing but good news.
Not even the slightest risk of diabetes. Metabolic function perfect, kidney and liver function excellent, negative PSA, mildly elevated LDL cholesterol. All other lipid markers within normal limits.
I know I sometimes jokingly exaggerate how much alcohol I drink. But it was still a relief to see normal liver function, and no diabetes.
Walking seven miles every weekend is paying off...
I love you all...

(101,767 posts)I am rethinking my physical fitness strategies now that I'm on the 70th swirl around the sun. My body responds to thing differently and adjustments have to be made. But walking is part of the plan.
You must be doing things right and I agree that walking is a major component.

(5,772 posts)Great news on your blood work, and nice to hear your "drinking" posts are exagerated and not actual super heavy consumption. It did seem a little incongruous with you being a medical professional.

(71,995 posts)Although a lot of medical practitioners are heavy drinkers. Terrible way to manage the stress, but we do it anyway.
My heavy drinking days are behind me. Me and my tanker buddies in the Army tried to drink Germany dry. We nearly succeeded. But that was a long thirty-five years ago.
