I got the water bottle and sprayed her four or five times and she just sat there looking at me like I was stupid.

I sprayed my previous cat Boots one time and that's all it took. Every time I brought out the bottle after that, as soon as she saw it she immediately stopped what she was doing. I never had to spray her again.
