The DU Lounge
Related: Culture Forums, Support ForumsI have a friend who says "a place for everything and everything in its place"
She is so super organized she knows where everything is in her house. I am the opposite. I don't know where anything is. I will take something from where I know where it is and put it somewhere else and then spend two hours looking for it. The funny part is I retired from a job where I had to be organized. My boss would ask me where such-and-such file was and I'd say "your guess is as good as mine" and he would just shake his head and say "no, MIButterfly." I always wanted to say "you tell me and we'll both know" but I thought that was too flippant. I mean he had a good sense of humor and I got away with saying a lot of things but I wasn't sure that would go over so well.
Anyway, I was looking in a box of miscellaneous things I had stored away (one of many, as you can imagine) and I found three wall plaques of butterflies. I have no idea when I got them or how long they were in that box, but they're so pretty. I imagine I got three because I couldn't decide which one I liked best so I got one of each. And stashed them away in a box. One of these days, I'm going to hang them in the kitchen along with all the other things I plan to hang in my kitchen.
I am a thinker, a dreamer and a planner but I'm not much of a doer. I'm also a terrible procrastinator. Check in with me next year to see if I've done anything with those butterfly plaques.
On the other hand, where's the fire?
