Classic Films

Prime time: Three classic Noir films, which TCM host Eddie Muller lists in a blog post as being among "Top 25 Noir films that will stand the test the time."
Muller's comments:
SCARLET STREET, (1945): Deeply perverse, and immensely enjoyable for the ways writer Dudley Nichols and Fritz Lang run circles around the Production Code. Were the three leads (Edward G. Robinson, Joan Bennett, Dan Duryea) ever any better?
THE KILLERS, (1946): Hemingway's short story is fleshed out into an incredibly involuted screenplay, which Director Robert Siodmak renders as the ultimate noir dreamscape. The Citizen Kane of crime movies. And Burt Lancaster's film debut.
NIGHTMARE ALLEY, (1947):
Little by little, as this film resurfaces in the mainstream, it will come to be seen as Tyrone Power's greatest contribution to the movies.
