I still play every day, but as a trained jazz piano player, I can't get interested in classical.
The "restrictions" of notated music on an improvisor is tough!
Oh, and I saw NIN when they opened for Bowie in Tinley Park. Then Trent came out to play with David on "I'm Afraid Of Americans". Great show by both bands.

I'm focused on Debussy's Claire De Lune lately ... Slowly working note by note, hand by hand, measure by measure.

I never had piano instruction as a young lad, but always had a fascination ... I'm actually more comfortable on guitar, so it's a bit of a slog for me ... Nevertheless I'll persist

The Kapustin piece I posted is definitely a fusion of classical and jazz influences ... It's spectacular when it all comes together

I did study composition and music theory along the way, which is where I gained an appreciation of classical styles .. The standard pedagogy relies on 'the classics' to explain form, harmonic theory and devices, so it comes with the territory

I've seen NIN a few times now ... Such excellent and rewarding shows
