Related: About this forumSome flowers from Turkiye
It had been a bit of a wet spring so flowers were out in force. Shot with my new Nikon DX 18-300 lens. I gave it a real work out on this trip. The close focus is amazing at 300mm. Now to start working with the manual focus for more pictures.

(41,781 posts)It is kind of funny. I bought the camera, Nikon d5200, about 12-14 years ago. It had a 18-55 3.5-5.6.
A few years back I got another lens, 18-105, 3.5- 5.6. It has served me well but I wanted a bit more length. So cast around and DX lenses are harder to find and long ones get pricey. So I found this on 18-300, 3.5-6.3 through Calumet Germany.
So I essentially have been adding mm and only had to sacrifice speed at the over 100mm plus region. I think it focuses to 18 inches from lens center. It is ridiculous. Not that much bigger than the 105 and takes the same filters.

Now are they calming to look at?
