Idaho Panhandle: After the Storms of Monday, August 4, 2025

Sony A7-R4 mirrorless camera with a Zeiss-Batis 18mm/f2.8 wide-angle lens. Shot from my fire lookout tower on 8000 foot peak. The sun is setting behind me, and there is a light rain falling between me and the next peak over. The shadow of my mountain can be seen on the side of the neighboring peak.

We have some astounding members here at DU, and you are one of them Bo Zarts. This makes me wonder where California Peggy is. She needs to see this. That is absolutely out-of-this-worldly!

We now know some of the science and have logical explanations for these phenomena, but to a person who doesn't have the mental capacity, .......

Great shot. Weird how this weather works. Surrounds or valley get the rain north south most of it comes in from the West. Oh well that’s the way of it. Love your pics.

ROYBGIV - VIGBYOR (red, orange, yellow, blue, green, indigo, violet .. and reverse). I wanted to go to the ground and get the fire tower under the rainbow arc, but I was working a lightning fire with two engine crews on it .. so all I could do was a couple of quick shots from the lookout tower catwalk.

This is my laptop background now (with your permission please? ). Need something hopeful to see every time I turn it on and man will that help in these dark times.. Thank you so much. I have a picture folder of much of your art, and it is art, make no mistake. Thank you again for being so kind to share (and for the tireless thankless very important work you do!!)

I've been having health problems, so I don't know if I will be able to hike or backpack again to high points like your spectacular perch, so I very much appreciate that you allow us to see the beauty of your world. Thank you.
