But this was a predicted "King Tide," and we were there for an art event on the beach that depended on a very low tide. However, as the Summer ends, and Fall storms brew at sea, there are treacherous "sneaker" waves.

The art event

I rediscovered watercolor painting there so the art event fascinates me. Looks like artists create in the sand? Truly a special place (I’m convinced it’s a portal for creativity).

That was charming in the days before Covid, but took a very bad turn and was closed by the feds, and the animals they could save were relocated to various other zoos and rescues.

Downtown Brandon has some charming shops, and the local bookstore always has a large supply of signed books by (my favorite writer) Timothy Zahn, who lives in the area.

But usually better 125 miles north in Newport (in or around Agate Beach)
