I'd thought I hadn't taken any moon photos in this year, but I was wrong! I took one back in February. (Original Post) CaliforniaPeggy Thursday OP

So thank you for remembering the picture as it’s the last post I’ll see before I call it a day and smile doing so 🙏

It's odd, it feels so desolate as though I'm there all alone. I can hear the quiet.

Thank you for sharing.
Be well.

It does have a desolate feeling to it. No trees, or mountains or anything. It was by itself in the sky, which for me, makes it easier to capture.

I can hear the quiet too.

Before I posted this photo, I went through my Moon file on SmugMug to see if I'd already put it there. If I found it, that meant that I had indeed posted it before.

This year has been pretty tough, and I think that was why I'd forgotten it.

Definitely a trip of discovery!

as an American child in a foreign land, I was so proud

it also amazes me to think of all the people who have lived on this earth and looked up at that same moon

And I agree about which is more impressive: a crescent moon or a full one.

Full moons are great to see but they don't work very well in a photograph. A flat circle. While the crescent moon in all its varied phases shows the craters in vivid detail. I love bringing those details out.
