3. Yes... Loud music to disturb the bear as suggested below is a real bad idea for one hibernating.

I'd be cautious coming and going, but if he's sequestered in hibernation in the crawlspace, I'd let him be.

It's the Riviera for them. More than likely he leaves his accomodations to make food runs at night and hunkers down during the daytime.

Access to food year round don't hibernate. It's why you can go see non-hibernating bears at sanctuaries, they feed them all year.

authorities are not responding, this seems s little unexpected or perhaps a tenuous claim by the owner to try to get help (which I could understand)... But, an actual gas line ruptured is a STAT emergency that should have local authorities, the power company and 911 in hyper-response. Thus, I wonder...

Poor bears and other wildlife were displaced because of the fires just like so many people were. Such a sad situation.

The homeowner spoke with Eyewitness News and said the bear was spotted Wednesday and was shocked by an electrified doormat used by professionals to capture bears.

The bear's whereabouts remain unknown as of Thursday afternoon. A wildlife rescue group helped with the bear's removal.
