SF: Phil Kim wins school board race, Phoebe Maffei claims Superior Court seat

San Franciscans headed to the polls on Tuesday to cast their votes in the 2026 California primary election, with voters deciding on major statewide and federal races.

Though big-ticket ballot items — such as The City electing its first new U.S. representative in nearly 40 years and the wide field of gubernatorial candidates — drew national attention, there were also local races to decide. There was also an incumbent’s seat on the Board of Education up for grabs, as well as seats in the California State Assembly and a Superior Court position.

Here’s where the races stood as of 11:45 p.m. Tuesday evening in tallies posted by the San Francisco Department of Elections.
