Local sheriffs sign up to cooperate with ICE

Source: WPSD Local 6

MARSHALL COUNTY, Ky. — As Immigration and Customs Enforcement arrests increase across the state of Kentucky, sheriff’s offices in two local counties have signed documents to begin the process of partnering with the agency’s 287(g) program.

The Lyon County and Marshall County Sheriff’s Offices both signed on to 287(g) contracts on May 8, 2025. There are 3 models for the program that agencies can choose to participate in: Task Force, Jail Enforcement and Warrant Service Officer. Both Marshall and Lyon County are registered under the Task Force Model.

This really pisses me off. Marshall and Lyon counties are touristy because they are on Kentucky and Barkley Lakes. It would be a shame if people with a conscience didn't vacation there anymore.

Read the article, it's sickening. I won't make a mean comment about the grinning officer. I'm sure that you all can caption that yourself.
