The Breakdown: Early voting to begin across Louisiana ahead of Oct. 11 elections

NEW ORLEANS — In your Breakdown: Early voting starts this Saturday for some important elections across Louisiana.

There are no statewide races, but some parishes have financial matters to vote on and other parishes have big elections underway.

In New Orleans, voters will make a choice for sheriff, clerk of Criminal District Court, assessor, six city council seats, and mayor. You can find extensive coverage of those contests on our website.

In St. Tammany Parish, voters will make a choice for Mayor of Slidell.
