DiDomenico knocked off ballot again, leaving Tiseo unopposed in Woodland Park mayor's race

For the second time in less than three months, Dominick DiDomenico has been disqualified from the ballot for failing to submit enough petition signatures.

The Passaic County Clerk’s Office rejected DiDomenico’s independent petition for mayor of Woodland Park after determining that it contained only 189 signatures, well short of the 250 required under state law. In a June 3 letter, County Clerk Danielle Ireland-Imhof informed DiDomenico that his petition was invalid because it did not meet the minimum signature requirement to get on the November ballot.

The latest setback comes just months after DiDomenico was removed from the Republican primary ballot for the same reason: an insufficient number of valid petition signatures.

Because DiDomenico couldn’t get the signatures, Ireland-Imhof did not need to apply the state’s sore loser law, which may have applied to the mayoral candidate since he initially ran as a Republican.
